UFC 201 Monster Acca

Yet another weekend is here and yet another UFC card. Atlanta, GA is the host for UFC 201 and Will Burns presents a HUGE MONSTER ACCA to build the bank.

160730 - Rose Namajunas

Saturday 30th July 2016

UFC 201

Philips Arena, Atlanta, GA

Monster Acca

The fight I am most looking forward to on the whole card is in the Women’s Straw-weight division as Rose Namajunas faces the undefeated Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Kowalkiewicz has a 2-0 record UFC, but her level of competition is mediocre, as Namajunas has defeated Paige van Zant and Tecia Torres in her last two outings. I see Rose’s wrestling and jiu-jitsu game are likely to make the difference in this one and hand Kowalkiewicz her first loss. Could be by submission or by grinding out a decision.

Jake Ellenberger has failed to impress in the last three years and I see Matt Brown knocking him out. Brown has lost three times in the last 11 fights, those opponents were Demian Maia, Robbie Lawler and Johny Hendricks while Ellenberger has won one fight in six and I am baffled to see how he still has a UFC contract. Ellenberger was also defeated by Lawler if anyone is counting.

Next up, Francisco Rivera is fighting Erik Perez and I see this one too close to call despite Perez being a 1/2 favourite. However, this one will defenitely go at least two rounds so get on Over 1.5 Rounds.

With a 6-0 record, Michael Graves comes into his fight with Bojan Velickovic four inches smaller so you to think Graves takes the big man down and grinds out a decision but could finish it early with a submission as he did last time against Randy Brown.

In the main event, for the Welterweight title, Tyron Woodley challenges Robbie Lawler for the strap. This should be a good scrap, but I favour Lawler due to better cardio and able to work at a faster pace. If Woodley can’t knockout Lawler within the first two rounds, the challenger as usual will gas out and Lawler will dominate from there on in. I cannot see Woodley being able to clip Lawler so he’s my pick rounding out the Monster Acca.

Rose Namajunas to beat Karolina Kowalkiewicz (1.47)

Matt Brown to beat Jake Ellenberger via KO, TKO, DQ or Submission (1.61)

Francisco Rivera vs. Erik Perez – Over 1.5 Rounds (1.47)

Michael Graves to beat Bojan Velickovic (1.44)

Robbie Lawler to beat Tyron Woodley (1.61)

TIP: Five-Time Acca (8.21 at Bet365)

Will Burns
